Effective organisations have practices that involve staff. The practices are not particularly radical - indeed, some of them would seem to be just common sense. However, it is important to choose practices that systematically work towards the achievement of organisational goals and people performance. Moreover, unless the practices have an impact on the way in which managers and staff connect, then nothing of any lasting significance will occur.
